The Weekend

Because the house is on the market, we had to find something to do all weekend. We wanted to go hiking again, but the weather just would not cooperate. So we ran errands on Saturday, but that didn't take long. Then we went to Savage Mill and to the park and opened the windows and I took a long nap. Yesterday we went to a jazz brunch after church. We sat right next to the musicians! They started paying a kind of bluesy jazz tune and I decided to sing the blues for them since they did not have a singer, if you want to call "goo-goo gah-gah" singing!

It looks like the house will sell. Mommy and Daddy are going to sit down with Jerry tonight and go over several contracts. The tentative plan is for Uncle Mike to fly up and help Daddy load everything at the end of April. On the way, we are planning on stopping in Georgia to see Grandma Tucker and Great Grandma Pribble! We are going to stay with Grandma Jenschke in Austin until Mommy and Daddy buy a house for us. Mommy doesn't start school until late August, so we are going to spend the summer together! We are going to do lots of fun things. We already have a family reunion to go to in July. We are all renting a beach house and I will get to see all of Mommy's cousins, aunts, and uncles!

I am going to miss going to Mommy and Daddy's work and playing with all the nice people. Maryland is so green and pretty, with lots of public land for hiking and other things. I wish I were staying around a bit longer to enjoy it!

Dancing

We were down in the basement and Daddy was listening to music that made Mommy want to dance, so we danced!

My new trick....

I have now found that if I push my feet down while laying on the changing table, I can lift my bottom off the table! I haven't found what this is good for, other than making Mommy and Daddy wonder why I am doing it.....hehe.

Daddy still sick!

Daddy stayed home from work today. I wish I could have stayed home with him, but I know he needs to rest and the more I am around him, the more likely I would get sick. Let me tell you, I don't want what he has! Talk about GRUMPY! I hope Daddy is better by the weekend, as Mommy was talking about going back to the Shenandoah to try to reach the water falls we didn't make it to a few weeks ago. Hopefully most of the snow is gone, and if we get an earlier start maybe we can make it!

Not Much Going On

Daddy was sick this weekend, so we didn't do many fun things. He did manage to pressure wash the deck on Saturday, and Mommy worked around the house all weekend. However, I did get to see my friend Evan Saturday night! Mommy and Daddy took me to Z Tejas and we met Evan and his mom and dad. I was sociable for a little while, but got sleepy when the food came. Evan can do alot of cool things, like tip a spoon up, bang toys on the table, and sit up in a high chair!

New Backpack!

Grandpa Tvrdik and Charlie bought Mommy a backpack to take me hiking. I am so happy, because we can now go on longer hikes and see really cool stuff.

Mommy got flowers for her birthday!

Grandma Jenschke had flowers delivered to Mommy at work. They are so colorful and smell great! Here is a picture of us with her flowers after we got back from her birthday dinner last night (click on the small picture to see the larger version):

New friend at daycare.

I have a new friend at daycare. His name is Evan and he is 8 days younger than I am. We played under the gym yesterday.

I really like barley cereal. But it fills me up! I am eating less formula since I started barley. I am eating rice at night too, and after I finish that box it's on to oatmeal.

What a day!

Today we worked in the front yard, and washed the Honda. It was so nice out. The sun was shining and there was a light breeze. It was the perfect day for a nap (click on thumbnail for larger version):

Shenandoah!

We had a good hike yesterday. It was a nice day! Mommy and Daddy were a bit ambitious in selecting the hike though. Officially listed as "strenuous" in our guide, it was about a 5 mile hike to get to the tallest water fall in the Shenandoah. Given the amount of snow and rain this winter, the falls would probably be gorgeous! But we didn't make it. In some places on the trail, there was still up to a foot of snow. Also, they forgot about me! When I want to eat, I want to eat. That means stopping on the trail for 45 minutes or so. So we hiked until we felt like turning back. Still, it was a great hike and nice to be out in the woods on such a nice day! Click here for pictures!

I am three months old now! This morning, Daddy fed me barley cereal for the first time. I was all smiles for him while eating it. The barley was good. I am getting pretty big. I was able to ride face out yesterday in the Baby Bjorn. Grandpa Larry and Charlie got a backpack for Mommy so I can ride on her back when I get a little bit bigger. I can't wait until Spring so we can do alot of hiking. Daddy said the 6 months he took off from hiking and biking to rest his knee has really paid off, it felt great yesterday! So maybe I will be able to ride in the Burley soon.

Stroller Ride

My friends and I went for a stroller ride yesterday at daycare. But Ms. Xiang wrapped me in two blankets and covered up my hands! She didn't know that I don't like my hands being covered, so I fussed and wiggled until I could get them out.

It is supposed to be in the high 50's this weekend, so Mommy and Daddy are going to get me outside. We thought about going for a bike ride and putting me in my car seat in the Burley, but it still might be a bit chilly for that. Maybe a hiking trip to the Blue Ridge Mountains is in order!?!

Growth Spurt?

I think I am going through a growth spurt. Monday I ate well over 40 ounces of formula! Yesterday, I slept most of the day at daycare, and ate two bowls of cereal. Mommy and Daddy read somewhere that most babies go through a growth spurt at about 3 months, so maybe they are right.

Daddy's slipping.....

Last night before I went to sleep I was still a little hungry. Dad had just finished feeding me a full bottle, but I wanted a bit more, so I cried. He changed my diaper and tried to get me to go to sleep. I cried some more. He sat down on the couch and held me close and put the pacifer in my mouth. I started screaming. He got up and walked and stuck the pacifier in my mouth. I screamed some more. He put me in the swing. I screamed even louder. He got a little terse with Mommy about A+D ointment maybe getting in my eye (what was he thinking?). I screamed some more. Then he finally came around and fixed me an extra two ounces of formula. I ate an ounce and a half and promptly fell asleep. I don't know why it was such a mystery as to what was wrong with me. I only scream uncontrollably when I am hungry!

New Photo Albums

Two new albums this morning! One is of pictures that "Uncle" Mike took at my baptism. Mommy and Daddy just got their pictures back, so maybe Daddy will scan some in this evening. The other album is from a walk that Mommy and Daddy took me on to Wilde Lake. It was a beautiful day! Maybe spring is just around the corner?

Airport Security

I forgot to tell ya'll about being inspected at the Austin airport. I am such a dangerous looking character that they decided to do a full pat down, even my diaper!

So tired......

A busy weekend makes William a tired boy! I slept most of the day yesterday, and into the evening. Daddy kept trying to get me up to eat around 9:30, but I kept falling back asleep on his chest. So he put me down and I slept until 7:00 a.m. This morning I was all smiles for Mommy!

Texas!

I had my first airplane trip! We went to Texas so I could be baptised in the church where Mommy and Daddy got married. I wore an 88 year old gown that my great great grandmother hand made for my great grandfather. It has been worn by all of his children and grandchildren, and is now being worn by his great grandchildren. After the ceremony, we all went out for BBQ at The County Line! I got to see my great grandmother Pribble, all my grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins, and other family members and friends. Stay tuned for pictures, Daddy will have to scan them in since all the pictures were taken on the film camera and not the digital camera.
